TURKEY: A DEMOCRATIC COUNTRY LAW NO ONE GIVES US DEMOCRACY COURSE
Constitutional political life was developed together with the world in Turkey. Our parliament (TBMM) has a history of 143 years.
The multi-party life which started in the Ottoman Empire period started again after the establishment of the republic.
After a short interruption, but since 1946, the continuation of uninterrupted multi-party political life continued.
Democracy in Turkey is committing all its institutions and rules. Since 1946, many general and local elections have been made and the will of the people has been reflected in the polls.
How to make elections is determined by law. Every political party has the freedom to participate in elections. All kinds of security measures are taken for the free and equal reflection of the will of our citizens.
In the elections we have made so far, sometimes there have been objections. The way to be followed in the objections is also stated in our laws.
The same procedure was followed in the local administrations elections held on 31 March 2019 and the race was concluded in a democratic way.
However, the difference between the two candidates in Istanbul is to be expressed in small amounts. This situation raises the possibility of being mistaken in counting.
In order for the voters to manifest their choices in the real sense, objections have been made about the faults that have been deemed wrong and the relevant polling boards continue their studies.
Why is using a democratic right to disturb others?
In particular, the issue of foreign states not parties make statements about the elections held in Turkey is not acceptable.
Turkey’s democracy experience, far outside the legal system does not require anyone to give the mind a structure is established and reliable.
Those judgments concerning Turkey, which before the mind should review their own systems.
In addition, the reliability of Turkey’s electoral system is qualified to serve as an example to other countries. The internal debates of the Turkish nation are not related to foreign countries.
Remarks made by Foreign countries are considered as an attempt to create a negative perception turned to Turkey on our side. Since similar situations were experienced before, the explanations made by us were unfair, unfounded and ugly.
The results of the election held on 31 March 2019 shall be officially announced by the district and provincial election committees and the final decisions of the Supreme Board of Elections. We strongly condemn the United States and the Council of Europe, which have made doubtful statements on this situation.
